RE-ELECT TO SIGNAL MOUNTAIN TOWN COUNCIL

Practical leadership.
Responsible decisions.
A strong Signal Mountain.

I’m seeking another term on Town Council to continue serving Signal Mountain with careful stewardship of town finances, transparent decision-making, practical investments, and respect for the character of our community.

Good local government starts with preparation, transparency, and respect for the community.

Council decisions often involve real tradeoffs. I try to understand the facts, ask questions, weigh cost, value, legal risk, and long-term consequences, listen to residents with different perspectives, and then make the decision I believe best serves Signal Mountain.

Practical progress and careful stewardship

During my first term, I’ve supported greater financial transparency, stronger resident engagement, practical investments in community facilities and infrastructure, and careful consideration of growth and development.

01

Financial transparency

Supported ClearGov and easier public access to town financial information so residents can better understand how public funds are budgeted and spent.

02

Listening to residents

Supported community surveys and better communication to give residents more ways to provide input and understand the decisions before Town Council.

03

Practical facility improvements

Supported needed investments in community facilities, including pool pumps and bathroom improvements, with a focus on maintaining services residents actually use.

04

Better town communication

Supported hiring a Community Development Director to strengthen communication, resident engagement, community programming, and coordination of important town resources.

05

Making better use of community assets

Supported the Town assuming direct responsibility for the Mountain Arts Community Center, preserving its arts and community foundation while expanding its potential as a gathering place, program space, and community resource.

06

Sidewalks & infrastructure

The Old Town sidewalk project began years before I joined the Council. After reviewing the costs, delays, grant requirements, and obligations of the TDOT approach, I supported withdrawing from the grant. I am now evaluating whether targeted town-funded work performed in-house could deliver needed sidewalk improvements faster and more cost-effectively.

07

Balanced approach to growth

Approach development decisions by weighing infrastructure capacity, traffic, emergency access, legal risk, property rights, and the character of existing neighborhoods.

Priorities for Signal Mountain

Protect what works. Invest where it adds value. Plan for what comes next.

The next term should stay focused on the fundamentals residents share: responsible finances, dependable infrastructure, transparent decisions, responsive services, and thoughtful planning for the future.

01

Fiscal Responsibility

Good stewardship is not simply spending less. It means protecting taxpayers from waste, evaluating costs carefully, and investing when the long-term value to the community justifies the expense.

02

Transparency & Engagement

Build on ClearGov, community surveys, and improved communication so residents have useful information and meaningful opportunities to participate.

03

Infrastructure & Services

Maintain and plan responsibly for roads, sidewalks, stormwater, public facilities, utilities, and the everyday services residents rely on. Where practical, look for lower-cost ways to complete needed work faster without sacrificing quality.

04

Growth, Property Rights & Community Character

Seek a balanced approach that respects property rights while accounting for traffic, infrastructure capacity, emergency access, environmental conditions, and neighborhood character.

05

Collaborative Local Government

Work respectfully across differences, listen to residents, and keep Town Council focused on the local issues and practical outcomes our community shares.

Technical experience. Community service. Careful judgment.

I work as an Environmental Engineer and have served on the Signal Mountain Town Council since being elected in 2024. I hold an M.S. in Environmental Science.

My professional work involves environmental compliance, regulations, data, infrastructure, risk, and long-term planning. It has taught me to ask questions, understand tradeoffs, and make decisions that can stand up to scrutiny—an approach I bring to Town Council.

I value respectful disagreement and working with people who see issues differently. Residents may not agree with every vote I make, but they should be able to expect preparation, listening, clear reasoning, and a serious commitment to the town’s long-term interests.
